Kelaniya – Mudungoda Road (B214)

Rehabilitation, Improvement and Maintenance of Kelaniya – Mudungoda Road (B214) From Nagahamula Junction to Delgoda (6+300 km TO 19+000 km).

The Ministry of Highways (MoH) has undertaken Rehabilitation / Improvements and Maintenance of about 70 km National in Western Province in eight contracts under the Second Integrated Investment Road Program for which the Government of Sri Lanka has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

WKK Engineering Company (Pvt) Ltd is the Design and Build contractor of the project, who assigns NSA as the design sub-contractor to the project. NSA carries out detailed designs including the pavement design, geometric designs, hydrology study and structural designs of the culverts and bridges of the project. Further to the above designs, the NSA design team performs the designs of road signs & lane marking, junction improvement drawings and design cross sections to facilitate the construction.

The road is designed and constructed to pre-determined standards in order to fulfil a particular function required by road users. As the B214 road caters for the heavy vehicle movements of Biyagama Export Processing Zone all the requisite road safety standards are being considered for the designs.
