Rehabilitation, Improvement and Maintenance of Balangoda Bowatte Kaltota Road (B038) (11+500 km to 15+500 km)

The Ministry of Highways (MoH) of Sri Lanka has undertaken Rehabilitation / Improvements and Maintenance of National Road (Balangoda Bowatte Kaltota (B038) from 7+500 km to 23+500 km) in four contracts under the Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded Integrated Investment Road Programme. Consulting Engineers & Contractors (Private) Limited is the Design and Built contractor, who carries out the construction works and all the necessary investigations and surveys which are relevant to the design aspects. NSA is the engineering design sub-contractor of the 4km, 2nd section of the project.

NSA carries out detailed designs including the pavement design, geometric designs and structural designs of the culverts and bridges of the project. Similarly, NSA carries out the road marking and road furniture designs for the required standards.

This project is part of the development project of Pelmadulla - Embilipitiya – Nonagama Road (A018) since the government of Sri Lanka requested to enhance the mobility of the area with the improvement of the road. On the completion of this road, the distanced locality of the beautiful Kaltota area could reach the Balangoda city in a short span of time.
